16. 05. 2014The sound of ‘right livelihood’
A group of seven students under the direction of Marcel Kloppenburg from the Berlin University of the Arts/Sound Studies was challenged by the Right Livelihood Award Foundation (www.rightlivelihood.org) to find out. The purpose was to strengthen the Award with an auditory element that will allow people to recognize the RLA by sound. During the process, the students developed a characteristic sound logo which has already been integrated into short films about our laureates and will be used in other applications.

Ole von Uexkull, Executive Director of the Right Livelihood Award Foundation, said: “Inspiring, powerful, visionary, authentic – that is how I perceive our Laureates. A sound logo for the Right Livelihood Award has to translate these characteristics into sound, and I think that the students did a wonderful job in achieving this.”
